Elk/Beaver Lake trail walk - Feb 21/2009

I drive by this place every day.... figured I should at least check it out. Has a nice trail going all the way round both lakes.... 10km. It proved too long for me today - next time I will be better prepared.

  • The cormorants were putting on a little show - I am guessing some kind of mating display. They were just close enough for my long zoom to reach. Most are cropped some.

  • It was a pretty nice day. Warmer than you would guess by the clothes this lot are wearing. I have no idea who they are... but I thought it made a nice pic. There were lots of people out walking or running. Part of the trail used to be a rail line.

  • This little guy was pretty fearless. Only about 6 feet above me. I actually underexposed these shots pretty badly, but was able to rescue them in processing.
